Simon Winchester, author of a Joseph Needham Biography titled "The Man Who Loved China: The Fantastic Story of the Eccentric Scientist Who Unlocked the Mysteries of the Middle Kingdom", speaking at Sydney in 2008. This public talk was delivered in front of an auditory not specialzed in sinology or Chinese Studies as the book is written for readers fascinated by the unique stories and characters the centuries-old story of European/Western-Chinese encounters has produced and still is about to produce.
